Helico is a biotechnology company established in Auckland, New Zealand, with branches in the Bay Area and Mexico. enabling the next generation of biologics using plant-based production.

CHALLENGE
Helico stands at the crossroads of science and nature, driven by a humanitarian mission to push the boundaries of possibility. Their vision – a world where every human has safe, affordable access to life-saving medicine – is rooted in the union of cutting-edge technology and the organic elegance of the natural world.
The challenge lay in distilling this bold aspiration into a brand identity that could resonate with both precision and warmth. How could the stark language of science transform into something organic, fluid, and human? How could the brand harmonize the mechanical rhythms of innovation with the timeless poetry of nature?
SOLUTION
To address this challenge, we developed a visual identity for Helico that blends the precision of science with the essence of nature. The design draws inspiration from the intersection of cutting-edge technology and plant biology, reflecting both innovation and humanity.
Every design decision was made to communicate Helico’s mission of making life-saving medicine accessible to all, while balancing the technical and organic aspects of the brand in a simple and approachable way.






The first drafts of the Helico logo were inspired by the intersection of nature and technology, capturing the harmony between organic forms and scientific precision.












The final symbol, the Flower of Life, represents balance, regeneration, and interconnectedness.
Its seven circles embody the fusion of nature and science, aligning with the company’s mission to innovate sustainably.












Inspired by the synergy of machine learning and synthetic plant biology, the final emblem emerged from ancient wisdom: the Seed of Life.
Vision based approach
This sacred geometry, composed of seven interlocking circles, reflects the universal patterns of existence. It echoes across the seven colors of the rainbow, the seven notes of a musical scale, and the seven days that shape our lives.
For Helico, the Seed of Life is a talisman – a bridge between the natural and the technological. Its floral contours speak to the organic, the earthy, and the living, while its mathematical precision symbolizes innovation and scientific rigor.
Through this symbol, Helico’s identity unites growth, connection, and innovation.
It embodies the mission to cultivate new seeds of life and spread them globally, fostering hope and transformative possibilities.
